Nasiha Pozder from the Faculty of architecture in Sarajevo spoke about the modern problems of urbanism. Pozder sees as the greatest problems the lack of sustainable spatial planning, a non-usable strategy of development, but also a disregard of plan documentation and non-planned/illegal construction. She sees the solution of the same problems on the insisting on sustainable and responsible planning, fighting non-planned construction, the intensified work of inspections and tougher sanctions, while in the sphere of the environment she highlights the importance of planning in conjunction with spatial possibilities and sustainable ecologically acceptable infrastructural systems, and of course, the popularisation of cycling with the goal of reducing motor traffic.
Toni Richard Crisolli from the German liberal Friedrich Naumann Foundatin for freedom introduced the "Smart Cities Initiative 2014/2016" project to everyone present which encompasses a broad spectrum of terms, and its ultimate goal is to find a way how to, on the local political level, contribute to the creation of "smart cities". The project will last three years and specific subjects would be tackled each year and good practical examples would be searched for. Dušan Dinić, the coordinator of the Foundation introduced the participants with the task of creating a positional paper, the methodology of its creation and its importance.
