First VVD trainers in Croatia from the ranks of CPP's Youth Division!

treneri1 webZagreb, 20th of November 2013 – The team of CPP's Youth Division consisting of Ivan Nekić, vice-president of CPP's Youth Interest Committee for international relations and Mario Tevšić, vice-president of CPP's Youth Interest Committee for cooperation with associations and political parties took part in a Masterclass in the Netherlands where they have attained trainer status.

The Masterclass was held in Den Haag, organised by the Dutch liberal VVD party from the 7th to the 10th of November. The Masterclass is a new program of the Dutch VVD which was held as part of the Partnership days.

During the Masterclass the participants were trained for future coaches of liberal democracy. Apart from CPP-ers Ivan and Mario from Croatia, the participants were from Russia, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia and Marocco.

The first day of the Masterclass a debate titled "The Great Aid and Trade Debate" was carried out, which was moderated by VVD coach Kamran Ullah. At the end of the debate Mario Tevšić from CPP's Youth Division was proclaimed best debatant. Bravo Mario! The second day the participants visited the Central Office of the Dutch VVD liberal party where, under the guidance of experienced Dutch coaches Jan – Paul van Staalduinen and Kamran Ullah they prepared for future coaches. The third day they practiced techniques of giving speech and quality public appearance under the watchful eye of coach Bas Mouton and Maartje van Bavel. The training was held in the Theathre aan't Spui, in the Speech Republik. It is important to note that it is exactly Bas Mouton who founded the Speech Republik, and that he also trains the Netherlands Prime Minister for all important appearances. The same day a reception was also held with ambassadors from participating countries in the Partnership days, and it was at this opportunity that Ivan and Mario had the honor of meeting and speaking with Croatia's ambassador in the Netherlands, her excellence Vesela Mrđen Korać. The last day of the Masterclass the participants were split into pairs and held their trainings and thus attained the status of VVD coaches. This status shall enable them to transfer the knowledge of liberal democracy to their party colleagues, but also to colleagues from the wider region.

We remind that Ivan and Mario didn't have it easy by the statement of VVD coach Sander Janssen and Richard Korteland, who have held an education about priorities and ways of work of elected representatives in local and regional government last year in the Academy. On the seminar in Tomićeva they spoke about VVD coach educations which are demanding and difficult.

"The system of education of VVD coaches is layered, because there are coaches for branch members, subsidiaries, councillors (whether we are talking about an assembly, city or municipality), coaches for County Heads, Mayors, Municipality Heads and their deputies and finally coaches for VVD parliamentary representatives. In order to become a parliamentary representative trainer up to 10 years of education is required, and after every level of education an expert exam is taken which is valorised", highlighted Janssen and Korteland.

CPP's Political Academy has been cooperating with VVD for a number of years. In Tomićeva, the heart of the Academy educations on various subjects were held by many experienced VVD coaches. Marco Diekstra, Frank van Dalen, Michiel Peters, Jan van Run, Perdi de Lange, Marjolijn Bergmann – van Leuween, Ivo ten Hagen, Richard Korteland, Sander Janssen, Kamran Ullah, are some of many and we thank them a lot for their excellent educations.

Finally, the Academy would like to give a heartfelt congratulations to Ivan Nekić and Mario Tevšić who have become the first VVD coaches in Croatia and we hope that other young CPP-ers will follow their footsteps.

"Bravo Ivan and Mario. A heartfelt congratulations!"
