Political identity of CPP

tim webZagreb, 18th of November 2013. - A seminar of CPP's Team with high party officials was held in Novi Vinodolski from the 16th to the 17th of November 2013.

As part of the two-day seminar which has gathered around 60 participants from all parts of Croatia in Novi Vinodolski, on Sunday, the 17th of November a press conference was also held. CPP's president, first vice-president of the Government and Minister for external and European affairs Vesna Pusić and CPP's vice-president and Minister of the economy Ivan Vrdoljak spoke on the press conference. The seminar was held in the organisation of CPP's Central Office and the Political Academy, sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann foundation for freedom.

On the seminar, there was talk about CPP's political identity, that is the short party history, statistical data, the statute and organisational forms, the political position and ideology between conservatism, liberalism and socialism and CPP's principles. There was also talk about CPP in the media and two workshops on the subject of the party's political identity were carried out. The two-day seminar was moderated by Vesna Pusić, the party president.

"The main message of the gathering of CPP's Team in Novi Vinodolski is that Croatia knows and can, that energy, strength and potential exist, not only in Croatia's society but also in the people who want to politically engage themselves, in this case in CPP, and lead this country to success and stability, said CPP's president, first vice-president of the Government and Minister for external and European affairs Vesna Pusić on a press conference held as part of CPP's two-day seminar in Novi Vinodolski.

During the discussion about what Croatia should be and where and in what way it should go, the question of the current referendum was raised, which is, in the president of CPP's opinion, the first step in the direction of discrimination of one minority in Croatia's society.

"It is CPP's firm viewpoint that Croatia's society and Croatia's institutions cannot be allowed to discriminate anyone due to their ethnic background, orientation, identity, lifestyle or political viewpoints. Our viewpoint today and always will be that we shall advocate for the equality of all people and the freedom of everyone to bring out their points of view and live in harmony with their orientation. Even when our points of view diverge, we shall absolutely advocate the right of everyone to publicly, clearly and loudly express their viewpoints", said Vesna Pusić.

"We are against discrimination. We are against fear as an instrument of politics. We consider it important and key that the citizens of this country go out on the referendum and clearly vote against discrimination. If you allow the discrimination of one group today, regardless of what that group thinks, you can be certain that you will be on tomorrow's agenda. Because each one of us always belongs to a certain minority by some criteria", concluded Pusić.

CPP's vice-president and Minister of the economy Ivan Vrdoljak has valued that the period after the introduction and the first gathering of the Team has shown that CPP is on a good path and that the party has accepted the idea about transition and stronger engagement of new educated, smart and ambitious people from CPP on all levels which should, in the forthcoming period crystallize all the potential and everything positive that CPP has.

"We have a very positive and stable rating, which proves to us that we are on a good path, that along with a good job we show our citizens and in a way display what our greatest values are and I sincerely hope that this next step is the growth of CPP's rating", said Ivan Vrdoljak.

Apart from the members of Team CPP, the seminar was attended by the party's high officials.
