CPP's Women's Initiative is strong and numerous

Karlovac, 29th September - "We are here because we want to run for county councils, city and municipal councils, the head of department and the mayor position, because until the election is just 232 days left" said the President of the CPP's Women's Initiative and MP Sonja König to the members of the Women's initiatives from all around Croatia on the seminar entitled "Women and Politics - Facing the 2013 local elections" organized by CPP's Political Academy.
CPP vice-president and Minister of external and european affairs Vesna Pusić addressed the participants with a video message, supporting their endeavour in accomplishing all the seminar goals, she also explained that her personal absence from the seminar is due to female engagement in politics. Predrag Štromar, president of CPP's Central Committee, also addressed the participants, and he wished them welcome and a successful work day.
On the seminar and Report-thematic assembly, the Central interest Committee of CPP's Female initiative and CPP's Political Academy, in cooperation with Friedrich Naumann Foundation for freedom, have invited all party organizations to respect special measures against the discrimination of women, that is that there are at least 40% female candidates on electionary lists.
Boris Blažeković, Political Academy Head and CPP parliamentary representative opened the seminar. Mile Bionda, Karlovac County committee president, also greeted the participants. Višnja Ljubičić, pleader for sexual equality, Renata Potočnik, CPP public relations Office director and Iva Bihler, consultant and trainer from Ciceron communications, lectured the seminar.
The Report-thematic assembly was held in the afternoon part, and Radimir Čačić, CPP president, first vice-president of the government and Minister of Economy, addressed the participants. Jozo Radoš, president of CPP's representatives Club in the Croatian parliament, addressed the participants, and Sonja König presided over the following part of the assembly, in which she announced the local elections campaign titled „Women – run for public office!" as well as a series of activities to be held across Croatia.
„I am convinced that the role of women in Croatia will be more significant, and the merits appreciated more", finished König, quoting the late Savka Dabčević-Kučar.
