Zagreb, March 20, 2015 –Lectures held on the topic of „Public relations" and the „European political history" within the study programme of the IEC and the Academy, which are held with the support of the Dutch liberal party D66.
After an introductory lecture, Tvrtko Jakovina from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb continued to talk about the World War I, while focusing on events that preceded the bloodiest conflict in human history of that time. Jakovina also analysed the consequences of the Great War, foremost amongst them being the disintegration of empires. Students were most interested in events that impacted Croatia and the region, the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the establishing of the first Yugoslavia.
Professor Marijana Grbeša focussed her lecture on explaining one of the basic elements in the work of public relations- political campaigns. Meanwhile, she also delved into a discussion with students on how polls influence public opinion and what good practices are in presenting poll results. Lecture should ensure that participants have a different perspective when trying to understand poll results.
