The president of CPP about party's work at local level in the Academy

Zagreb, 13th December 2014 - Organized by the Political Academy of Croatian People's Party - Liberal Democrats in Zagreb a seminar was held for leadership of CPP's county organizations and regional alliances on the program and activities of the party at the local level in the next year. About the current situation and plans for the next period spoke the president of CPP, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Vesna Pusić.
Commenting on the upcoming presidential elections, Vesna Pusić stressed the importance of mobilization of people on election day. She noted that CPP in counties where it leads election headquarters on these elections (Osječka, Varaždinska, Međimurska and Dubrovačko-neretvanska county) showed a lot of success during the collection of signatures for the candidacy of Ivo Josipović for a new presidential term, collecting more than 54,000 signatures. In addition, CPP has, together with coalition partners in the streets and squares of the cities and municipalities all over the Croatia, collected a total of 203,875 signatures.
"It shows, first of all, the importance of the existence of party, the infrastructure that can get people out on the polls and in what extent the party can achieve good results with its organization and good planning", said the president of CPP. As a positive example, in favor of that statement, she reminded on the recent elections for councilors of local councils in Rijeka, where polls gave CPP three percent, and the party won five times more, 15 percent of the vote.
The seminar also discussed the possible topics for the parliamentary elections, at local and national level. CPP's president reminded that the party is preparing in the forthcoming period for a generational transition and that young people who are coming must rise above the surface.
The seminar brought together fifty participants, presidents and secretaries of CPP's regional alliances and county organizations, as well as teachers of the Academy from all over Croatia.
