Zagreb, 5th of December 2013 – The Academy's 3rd Department for the organisational strengthening of the party continues to organise visits of CPP's dignitaries in PL(R)SG and presidents of County branches to Croatia's parliament and the Academy and in this way strengthens the link between local party dignitaries, members of the representatives' Club and the Academy. Yesterday we hosted the Međimurjeans.
With a welcome introduction by Sonja König, parliamentary representative and Andreja Horvat FriÅ¡Äić, Head of the parliamentary president's Office our guests from yesterday were received. Led by the Head of MeÄ‘imurska County and president of CPP's MeÄ‘imurska organisation Matija Posavec they toured the parliament's facilities, and on the gallery they took part in a session led by Milorad Batinić, parliamentary vice-president. They then went to the Club's facilities.
In the Club's facilities they were all greeted by Nada Turina Äurić, the Club's vice-president, as well as parliamentary representatives Dragutin Glavina, Marijan Å kvarić, Igor Kolman and Petar Baranović, while during the visit SrÄ‘an Gjurković and Ivica Mandić spoke in the parliamentary hall. Sonja König was with our MeÄ‘imurjeans the whole time during the visit and readily answered questions.
Everyone present was introduced to the work of Croatia's parliament and the Club and numerous CPP initiatives of bringing about or changing laws. There was also talk about the way how the initiatives in bringing up new laws could be sent to CPP's COs and how they, through their reccommendations could contribute to a higher quality of acting of parliamentary representatives, as well as the problems they face in their work, that is the jobs the representatives carry out, and which aren't visible to the public.
The visit ended with an already traditional photography with parliamentary representatives in the lobby of Croatia's parliament, and the meeting on work and its difficulties of branch presidents wasn't held in the Academy, which is otherwise usual. Namely, Boris Blažeković, the Academy's director and CPP's parliamentary representative is officialy absent in the function of director of Croatia's parliamentary delegation in NATO's Parliamentary assembly. It was concluded that a lecture on the same subject would be held at the beginning of 2014, when Blažeković shall visit Međimurje.
