Šibenik, 11th of March 2014 – "CPP is for privatisation and stimulation of small and medium enterprise, and in that area results can be seen. Small and medium enterprise is necessary for small countries, for Croatia as well. We are pleased with the position and results of our ministries and we are sure that by the end of the mandate results of all ministries of this Government will be senn", said Boris Blažeković, Academy director and CPP's parliamentary representative on a press conference in Šibenik.
After the press conference, Blažeković also held a public discussion titled "Liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia" on which he spoke about the basic ideas of liberalism, the stereotypes which follow it and liberal problematics. He put special emphasys on the importance of the relationship between liberal policy and the individual, the relationship between liberal policy and civil society, liberal policy and the state, as well as the relationship of the viewpoint of liberal policy in questions of forming international relations.
"Without liberalism there wouldn't be the realisation of freedoms which exists in today's world, but along with those freedoms goes the responsibility for what was done. The conscience about those freedoms and responsibilities is achieved through education and construction of values", highlighted the director of the Academy in the continuation of his lecture.
Apart from talking about the basic principles of liberal policy and the relationship toward the individual and his basic rights, Blažeković also glanced on CPP's position in Croatia and highlighted that the state should be in the service of the individual.
"If man is an individual, a free individual born with basic founding rights, liberal policy thinks that everything should be subordinated to that for that same man to be able to realise his/her rights within a community called a state", said Blažeković.
"CPP is a liberal party from the very beginnings, and the construction of values within political parties is important, as well as the importance of discussions such as this one. It is the responsibility of all parties, especially CPP, to give people knowledge, resources and energy in order for them to turn from the apathy which rules in our society to their own knowledge and skills and use them to change society for the better", continued Blažeković.
The director of the Academy concluded that freedom of thought, freedom of ideas and a free market with as small an influence of the state as possible, are the foundations of liberalism. According to Blažeković, the current economic crysis has come about exactly due to refusal of the postulates of liberalism.
The president of CPP's šibensko-kninska County and CPP's parliamentary representative Petar Baranović highlighted the importance of respecting human freedoms and that CPP as a liberal party has the task of constantly strengthening the consciousness about the development of liberal democratic society.
The event was held as part of the Academy's 2nd Department for additional education in general politics in cooperation with CPP's šibensko-kninska organisation.
