Blažeković: Political culture in Croatia should be brought to consciousness more

Osijek, 21st of October 2013 – "Political culture in Croatia isn't on the level on which it should be and it would be good to promote it from all aspects, and not just from the aspect of liberalism. Everyone should be politically conscious more", said Boris Blažeković, Academy director and CPP parliamentary representative on a press conference in Osijek.
Speaking about the basic principles of liberalism, Stjepan Čuraj, president of Osječko-baranjska CO, glanced on liberal heritages which are more and more present in society which lives liberal principles respecting the individual rights of every individual.
"In conjunction with the values of liberalism, I consider Osijek ripe, as I believe that the City administration will allow the holding of a "Gay pride" next year already in our city. Thus can Osijek stand with Zagreb and Split and be host to such an event. We believe that we are ready", highlighted Čuraj.
Vladimir Ham, Deputy Mayor of the City of Osijek glanced on CPP's position, which marks a stable party and separates itself in today's political situation from an understanding and division of politics on the left and right, as it represents a "golden middle" which stimulates the idea and the point of liberalism. Zoran Ranđelović, president of CPP's Osijek subsidiary emphasized the strength of Osijek's CPP highlighting the local election results.
After the press conference, Blažeković held a public discussion titled "Liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia" on which he spoke about the basic ideas of liberalism, the stereotypes which accompany it and liberal problematics. He put special emphasys on the importance of the relationship between liberal policy and the individual, the relationship between liberal policy and civil society, liberal policy and the state and the relationship between of the viewpoint of liberal policy in questions of forming international relations.
"Liberalism as an ideology is the foundation of the modern state. Without liberalism we wouldn't have today's degree of freedom, but a responsibility accompanies every freedom", said Blažeković abd glanced on the role of education of people within the party.
"CPP is a liberal party from its very beginnings, and the building of values within political parties is important, as well as the importance of discussions such as this one considering that one of the basic party functions is the selection of a national political elite which marks education and fine sanding of young staff. As part of the Academy I have been touring the field for eight years and I am in Osijek for the third time in order for all of us together to bring closer to members, symphatizers and potential voters the basic principles of liberal policy which are a foundation for political activity", concluded the Academy director and CPP's parliamentary representative.
In the continuation there was discussion about the conception of civil society, financing and systematization associations in Croatia, the problematics of highway construction and putting them under concession, as well as CPP's point of view about the mentioned subjects.
The public discussion was held as part of the 2nd Department of the Academy for additional education in general politics.
