Blažeković: Cleaning the state is a difficult job

samac glavna webSlavonski Šamac, 23rd of September 2013 – "Croatia has, up to 2011, been systematically destroyed, and "cleaning" the state is a very difficult job. Leading the state is truly a complicated job which demands a lot of energy, knowledge, skill and effort. We are still cleaning. Currently the resuts of cleaning are most visible in the Ministry of finances, however, real results in all areas will be visible beginning next year", said Boris Blažeković, Academy director and CPP's parliamentary representative on a news conference in Slavonski Šamac.

Speaking about local problematics and the position of women in politics Vera Bošnjak, Head of Slavonski Šamac Municipality glanced on breaking the stereotype of politics as a male occupation.

"The position of women in society and politics isn't what we in CPP imagine it to be. It is a task up to all of us to change the current position of women, because it is exactly women who make up half of the total population. It is high time to break the stereotype that politics is a male occupation", said Bošnjak.

"Women and their action are necessary in public life and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Vera Bošnjak and the entire team on the excellent result achieved on the held local elections", took Blažeković his cue from Bošnjak.

Domagoj Bartek, president of CPP's Brodsko-posavska CO spoke about party elections as well as the state in Slavonski Brod.

"On the matter of SDP, our pre-electoral coalition partner in Slavonski Brod and their coalition with Mirko Duspara's list, CPP's takes this opportunity to definitely distance themselves from it. Let us recall four years ago, when SDP offered its technical support to CPR. CPP didn't want to enter such an alliance then as well. The end result was a love break-up of the two parties, in order for the love to bloom once again after the May elections", highlighted Bartek.

After the news conference, Blažeković held a public discussion titled "Liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia" on which he spoke about the basic ideas of liberalism, the stereotypes which accompany it and liberal problematics. He put special emphasys on the relationship between liberal politics and the individual, the relationship between liberal politics and civil society, liberal politics and the state and the relationship of the viewpoint of liberal politics in questions of formation of international relations.

"Liberalism as an ideology is the foundation of the modern state. Without liberalism we wouldn't have today's degree of freedom, however, each freedom is accompanied by responsibility", started Blažeković and glanced on the role of educating people within the party.

"CPP is from the very beginnings a liberal party, and a construction of values within political parties is important, as well as the importance of discussions such as these seeing that one of the basic party functions is the selection of the national party elite which marks education and sanding of the young staff", concluded the director of the Academy and CPP's parlimentary representative.
