Blažeković with Sisak's citizens

sisak gradjani1Sisak, 5th of February – As part of the Political Academy's 2nd Department, CPP's parliamentary representative Boris Blažeković receives Sisak's citizens every first Monday of the month and discusses the current issues and needs of their local community with them.

Sisak's citizens asked questions regarding life and problems of the City of Sisak and Sisak-moslavina county on yesterday's discussion. The largest portion of the questions related to the economic situation and the inability of finding work.

Blažeković asserted that nurturing too large expectations of the state or Government isn't viable, rather, citizens should undertake their own initiative and through numerous state stimuli and subsidies start their own steps in enterprise. Questions also related to transport connectedness with the City of Zagreb. Namely, 9000 of Sisak's citizens make a daily work- and study-commute to the capital, and the started construction of a full-profile motorway has been stopped. Citizens therefore expected answers regarding the modernisation of the transport infrastructure. Bležeković asserted that the construction of the motorway has sadly stopped due to the slowdown in state investments, but that the Government's priority certainly is the construction of the transport infrastructure, motorway Zagreb-Sisak-Mošćenica as well as the modernisation of the existing railway.

When some enterpreneurs asked as to why the state always persecutes small enterpreneurs, while large ones remain in a large amount of debts, he answered that the process of taking care of the state is a complex and exhaustive job.

"Much has been done in this regard, however, the results are not yet visible because, just like in enterprising, in order for any kind of success to be visible, a certain period of time is necessary", highlighted Blažeković.

In the following part of the discussion, CPP's parliamentary representative was asked to state his opinion on the installation of dual-language signs in Vukovar.

"I am certainly in favour of carrying out the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia, which means the installation of such signs in municipalities and cities where a significant ethnic minority of any kind lives", highlighted Blažeković.

There were also recommendendations and questions about the decoration and construction of certain parts of the city. There was also a discussion about political unification and coalition-forming with other parties on a local and city level for the forthcoming local elections in May.

The event took place in CPP's Sisak branch's facilities, and were also attended by Ivan Nekvapil, president of CPP's Sisak-moslavina county organisation and Vlado Andučić, president of CPP's Sisak branch.
