Zagreb, 10th of June – "When you become a high dignitary in a unit of local and regional self-governance, then you must be at the disposal of all citizens on that function, regardless of your party alignment. Politics encompasses serving the citizens on every level", said Sander Janssen and Richard Korteland, VVD coaches, on a seminar of CPP's Political Academy.
The entire seminar was based on a system of priorities and ways of work of elected representatives in PL(R)SG, which is exclusively based on education of dignitaries and representatives in local communities. The seminar was dominated by an exchange of experiences about the aforementioned subjects between VVD and CPP, and the coaches touched upon the most important and most sensitive subject – the budget of the local community.
"In VVD there are great politicians, who, on the other hand, aren't great councilmen and vice-versa and our educations are based exclusively on a system of selection, that is, selection of the candidates. Councilmen are chosen based on criteria, based on which we educate them further, and we always begin with basic education, regardless of the mandate", said Richard Korteland, deputy Mayor of Papendrecht.
"I believe we have the best education system in the Netherlands which is excellently laid out with a plan. It is constantly continued, it doesn't stop, because we are aware of its importance. Do not forget – education is the essence of everything, it marks the strength of the party" continued Sander Janssen.
Speaking about the system of education of its dignitaries in PL(R)SG, on which the priorities and ways of work in local communities are based, the experienced VVD coaches highlighted that their party always seeks new candidates who must, regardless of the result, take responsibility. On the other hand, all VVD dignitaries and councilmen in PL(R)SG study every day, because they encounter problems and strive to solve them. How and in what way? Once a month they exchange their experiences with their party colleagues on the same functions in units of local self-governance. They hold discussions and workshops with concrete conclusions and they are always in contact.
In the continuation, there was talk about the education of VVD's coaches themselves which are demanding and difficult.
"The education system of VVD coaches is stratified, because there are coaches for branch members, subsidiaries, councilmen (whether we are talking about an Assembly, City or Municipality), coaches for County Heads, Mayors, Municipality Heads and their deputies and at the end, coaches for VVD's parliamentary representatives. In order to become a coach for a parliamentary representative, up to 10 years education can be required, and after every degree of education a craft exam is taken which is evaluated", highlighted coach Janssen.
In the second part of the lecture, a workshop on the subject of authority take over in PL(R)SG and work in the next four years was also held. The participants were divided into three work groups. The first group was comprised of Mayors, Municipality Heads and their deputies, the second of councilmen, and the third of Academy teachers and spokespeople. The task was for each group to state its expectations from CPP, CPP's Political Academy through the education system and at the end in what way they will spread knowledge in the field, taking into consideration the subject of the workshop.
The seminar was organised in cooperation of CPP's Political Academy and the dutch liberal party VVD, and was graded excellent.
