Oroslavje, 11th of April – CPP's Krapinsko-zagorska county organisation continues educating its candidates for the local elections as part of the Academy. This time a seminar on the subject of the organisation of the campaign was held, strengthened by strategic political planning, political marketing and communication with the media and the voters.
The subjects were presented by Anđelko Topolovec, president of CPP's Krapinsko-zagorska organisation and Marija Puh, secretary of CPP's Northwest-croatia region.
The first part of the seminar was subject to talk about strategic political planning where Topolovec elaborated, in great detail, all eight steps of the creation of a strategy in a modern campaign. During strategy creation, attention must be given to campaign context analysis, goal definition, it is good to do a market analysis, furthermore to determine a target group, candidate image, as well as the general tone and type of the campaign. Only then, at the very end, can campaign subjects be defined. He spoke in the continuation about the importance of election day, the importance of the call centre, as well as the great importance of volunteers.
In the second part, Topolovec held up on the organisation of the election headquarters and mobilisational activities in the campaign. He made a detailed explaination of communication and coordination of the candidates with the election headquarters leader and the headquarters' PR office in great detail, noting that organisational matters aren't the candidates' job. Their job is perception.
"The important thing in the field campaign is the message which must be repated constantly and consistently, whereas on the other hand a finding of the best model for message dissemination by way of local media, on the field and by word of mouth is mandatory. The field campaign enables two-way communication with the voters, and it encompasses the engagement of members and symphatizers. We also must take care who we address and must know how to motivate members and symphatizers, because it is exactly this form that gives a new dimension to the campaign", highlighted Topolovec.
Speaking about the importance of election day, the Head of Radoboj County said that a list of certain and potential voters is the basis of the campaign, as well as a well carried out election day.
Marija Puh spoke about communication with the local media and voters in a campaign where, at the start, she put emphasys on strategy and planning before communication itself.
With communication with the voters she highlighted and stated several methods of message transfer to a certain audience by way of personal contact, mail, the publishing of a party bulletin, promotional materials, event organisation and pre-election gatherings, by way of the call centre and media and she underpinned everything with concrete examples from Krapinsko-zagorska county.
"When it comes to media communication it is important to adapt to the rules of the media and to use communication channels wisely", highlighted Puh.
At the end she introduced everyone present with the way of voting for the European parliament which brings a complete novelty in the way of voting itself which relates to the technique of the "preferential vote".
The seminar was held for the candidates on the forthcoming local elections and team leaders of Krapinsko-zagorska county.
