Pula, 10th of May – CPP's president Vesna Pusić opened the ALDE Party's Council meeting, which was held on the 10th of May in Pula, organised by the IDC. Along with Vesna Pusić, CPP's presence on the Council was represented by Boris Blažeković, Vedrana Gujić, Hrvoje Marušić and Jozo Radoš.
Pusić welcomed more than 170 delegates from all parts of Europe exactly 51 days before Croatia's entry into the European Union and thanked the liberals on their continued help and support through the last 12 years of Croatia's accession to the EU.
"Croatian liberals were the ones who pushed Croatia, and European liberals pulled it into the Union. The experience of partnership and friendship in this process has helped us understand the future role we have, and that is to also help our neighborhood, southeastern Europe, in order for them to become full members of the EU", said CPP's president.
Pusić also glanced on the forthcoming elections for the European Parliament in 2014 and highlighted the necessity for liberals to be represented and that liberal representatives sit in the Parliament and that they, together with their liberal colleagues work on a common project of a strong liberal Europe.
