The Academy on a seminar of FNSt Foundation and the International Academy for Leadership

gummersbch hinst webZagreb, 17th of April – Invited by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for freedom, CPP's Political Academy took part on a seminar in Gummersbach titled "Liberalism and religion" from the 7th to the 17th of April.

 

The Gummersbach seminar, where the Theodor Heuss academy is also located (International Academy for Leadership), named after Theodor Heuss, the founder of the Foundation and first post-war president of Germany, was organised through a series of workshops. The participants openly discussed various matters relating to the relationship between liberalism and religion, the possibilities of separating religion and politics, about institutional religion as a source of intolerance, and on the other side whether boundaries of religious tolerance exist and whether an influence of religious tradition is possible despite the decrease in religiousness in society.

The participants, as part of the seminar, attended study visits to the cities of Cologne and Dusseldorf, and the Croatian's People's Party – liberal democrats and the Academy were represented by the member of the Youth Interest committee's Presidency Daniel Hinšt.
