sudionici prZagreb, 28th January - CPP's Political Academy organized a seminar on modern techniques of PR last weekend in Vodice. Seminar was sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, and was moderated by CPP's PR of Central office and Toni Richard Crisolli, new media advisor of the Friedrich Naumann for freedom.

Forewords were held by Nina Ćorić from CPP's Political Academy, Charles du Vinage, director of the FNSt for the Western Balkans, Petar Baranović, vice-president of Dalmatia regional alliance, president of CPP's CO Šibensko-kninska county, CPP's MP, Mirko Sladoljev, president of CPP's branch Vodice and Renata Potočnik, CPP's PR Head office.

During the seminar the attendees were introduced to practical knowledge and participated through a series of workshops in writing journalist reports, the preparation of a media event, as well as a workshop on the subject of modern PR techniques in the context of new social media.

Two media events also took place during the seminar. The first related to a news paper conference, and the second to the socialising of Vodice's citizens with CPP participants. The media was invited to both events.

It is important to note that the subject of the seminar was reinforced with subjects related to the forthcoming local elections, because there was also talk about the organisation of the local campaign, more precisely about CPP and the local elections, communication with the media and the creation of a PR media plan, communication with the voters, the contribution of the CPP call centre to the election result and party organisation on the field.

Speaking about the preparations for the forthcoming local elections, Ivan Vrdoljak, CPP vice-president and Minister of Economy said that the majority of counties, cities and municipalities will mirror CPP's, SDP's and CRP's coalition on the national level, however, he also stated that, since CPP is a liberal party, local organisations will have autonomy when joining coalitions.

"Although the first year of this Government's mandate was largely dominated by "housekeeping" of the state, which was both difficult to do and communicate, the local elections will show that we are moving things in a good direction" highlighted Vrdoljak, adding that CPP expects 20% more councillors, heads of municipalities, mayors and county Prefects.

Vrdoljak emphasized that CPP has a strong organisation and a political leadership which knows the direction in which they are leading, and that the ruling coalition leads this country responsibly. He is convinced that all of this will contribute to a victory on the forthcoming local elections.

Vrdoljak compared the most underdeveloped and developed counties, and CDC's rule in those counties and emphasized that, according to the data he has access to, the most developed counties are the ones where CDC never held power, while the most underdeveloped ones are where CDC always held power.

Petar Baranović, president of CPP's Šibenik-knin county organisation, CPP's deputy mayor of Šibenik and parliamentary representative emphasized that, with the citizens prosperity at stake, he doesn't have a problem performing two functions.

"Someone is affected by red bull, whereas I am affected by our parole that we will not allow CDC's return", said Baranović, president of CPP's Šibenik-knin county organisation and CPP's parliamentary representative.

It was concluded that all county organisation spokespeople and regional alliance secretaries must present everything said on this seminar to the election candidates in their local areas.

The seminar was organised by the Political Academy of CPP under the sponsorship of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, and was organized for the CPP's county organisations spokesmen and secretaries of CPP's regional alliances.

We would like once again to thank the FNSt Foundation for enabling us to hire mr. Crisolli and for sponsoring our seminar on such an important subject.
