Zagreb, 23rd April 2016 – How to use EU funds in local and regional government and how to strengthen human resources at the local and regional level for the efficient preparation and use of EU funds was today's topic at the seminar of the Academy.

Sonja Tošić-Grlač, head of the Department of Health, Social Security and national minorities of Međimurska County explained to the participants benefits of EU funds using concrete examples of projects in education, health and social services.

The team from Varaždinska county - Krunoslav Lukačić, Director of AZRA and Dunja Mraković, associate of AZRA have explained the process of strategic planning projects, and how to strengthen human resources and carry out the necessary training for specific projects. Also, they have used concrete examples from IPARD program.

Lukačić and Mraković have placed the attention on the system of management implementation projects, with detailed explanations of Contract grant, publicity and visibility of the project, and reporting details of Requests for reimbursement of funds for projects.

The seminar was opened by the head of the Academy Boris Blažeković.
