"Freelance professions are the future of the working sector"

future jobs webZagreb, 1st June 2015 - In the premises of the creative center Polygon in Ljubljana, on 28th May a discussion on the future of jobs in Europe was held. The event was held in the organization of Novum Institute and the European Liberal Forum (ELF) for which the International Education Centre and Political Academy as a member of the Center received a call.

The event especially emphasized analysis of the status of self-employed persons who are, in today's conditions, more numerous, but also the undefined groups in terms of human rights protection.

The discussion was opened by Felicita Medved, president of the European Liberal Forum, pointing out the symbolism of the room where the event took place.

"These facilities are the symbol of the work and fight for the rights of the former tobacco factory workers. In modern conditions, the work which we knew before, becomes more complex because it is more diverges from the industrial concept of the classic manual labor and it is turning to more creative and flexible professions such as journalists, photographers, reporters, programmers and artists", said the president of the ELF.

Karl – Heinz Pague, Dean of University Otto von Guericke and former Finance Minister of the province Saxony - Anhalt, pointed out that "freelance" professions must be taken seriously because they are the future of the working sector. Below they highlighted the importance of protecting the labor and social rights of this group.

Also, there was an interesting and open discussion about the burning issues that worry European societies, looking for common solutions for efficient working sector, which will meet the needs of the community in which we live.

International Education Center and CPP's Political Academy was represented by Alen Tomić, a member of the Presidency of the Interest Board of CPP's Youth of Zagreb.
