Vinkovci, 16th of April – "Every member of CPP is a responsible politician and cannot run from that responsibility", highlighted Boris Blažeković, parliamentary representative and Political Academy director at the beginning of a lecture on the branch presidents' work.
After Vukovar, Blažeković ended his visit to Vukovarsko-srijemska county in Vinkovci.
The work of the branch presidents and the diffuculties which they encounter every day was the subject of a lecture with which he introduced the gathered Vinkovci branch members and CPP branch presidents and secretaries of Croatia's easternmost county.
"CPP is organisationally the second strongest party in the country, and its strength is first and foremost maintained on the local level", highlighted Blažeković, taking the opportunity to emphasize the branch as the key organisational form that simultaneously reflects its work, as towards the branches, so towards the county organisation.
In this context, the role of branch presidents was graded as most important, who through their work paint the party as better or worse.
"The length that presidents are capable of animating their membership, is as much a measure of the success of their work, and the branch as a whole. Branches are the alpha and omega of quality subsidiary work where good organisation and execution are the guarantee of good results of the subsidiary's work", added Blažeković.
Looking back on the role and duties of a modern politician, he highlighted that modern politics demand maximum professional engagement and have long ago ceased to be an afternoon hobby.
"Doing politics in a modern context represents a lifestyle demanding a huge private, professional and at the end financial engagement" said Blažeković to everyone present.
"The only purpose of politics is to serve the citizens. Without good communication with the citizens and listening to everyday problems all the work becomes futile", concluded the parliamentary representative and Academy director.
