povijest liberalizma sisak 2015Sisak, 18th February 2015 - "CPP from day one supported any change relating to preferential voting, and there have been other changes. One of the important according to me is the female quota, which means that 40% of women have to be on the lists, otherwise the list will not be accepted", said Boris Blažeković, MP and head of CPP's Political Academy at a press conference in Sisak.

"I think that's good. The same situation had the Nordic countries who were the first who introduced women's quota, and that same percentage of women for reasons thus forcing the political parties, and the political elite, but also the women to engage. That made their involvement stronger, clearer and bigger. Today in Norway and Iceland they have a higher number of women in parliament then you have men", said CPP's parliamentarian.

Ivan Nekvapil, president of CPP's Sisačko-moslavačka organisation agreed that these changes to the law encourage individuals in the party, especially women, to get more engaged and expressed hope that the law will in the future apply for elections at the local level also.

Before the public tribune on the historical roots of the Croatian People's Party - Liberal Democrats, a press conference was held. Besides Blažeković and Nekvapil, one of the participants was Vlado Andučić, president of CPP's branch Sisak and Deputy Mayor of the City of Sisak.

Public debate for which citizens expressed great interest, provided an opportunity to the public, members and supporters of the party to get acquainted with the roots of the party, the originators of policies as well as their attitudes and decisions throughout history. Blažeković spoke about the party in the recent history of Croatia and orientation to the liberal man as a basic guideline of the party.
