Varaždin, 17th February 2015 – In cooperation of CPP's Varaždinska county organization and 2nd Department of Political Academy CPP's MP and member of the Parliamentary Committee for Human Rights and National Minorities Vladimir Bilek held a public debate on the rights and position of national minorities.
When talking about the rights of national minorities Bilek said that Croatia has a well-decorated laws. Also he mentioned a new electoral law which now requires that election commissions must inform minority representatives with their rights when it comes to elections. CPP's MP noted good co-operation with the units of regional self-government when it comes to national minorities, stressing more than good cooperation with the Varaždinska County. He added that regional government recognized the fact that minorities are the wealth of our society.
Host of the event was the President of the Central Board of CPP, president of CPP's Varaždinska organization and Varaždinska County Prefect Predrag Štromar who stressed very good cooperation between the Varaždinska County and representatives of national minorities, with an emphasis that for the work of each minority adequate facilities and sufficient amounts in the budget are secured.
