Sisak, 4th of March – "The goal of our monthly incomes is making sure that the questions of Sisak's citizens go directly to the right address – the address of Croatia's parliament and all other responsible institutions", said CPP's parliamentary representative Boris Blažeković answering the questions of Sisak's citizens in CPP Sisak's facilities.
The topic of the evening was the preservation of INA's production, the industry which forms the basis of Sisak's economy. The citizens are especially worried concerning the erasure of Article 10 Protection of interests and security of the Republic of Croatia from the Law about the privatisation of INA, due to the forthcoming July the 1st and Croatia's joining of the European Union. Blažeković answered that INA should and must adapt to the market conditions in this crisis stricken time. He also said that priority should be given to domestic oil over imported and restructure, that is modernise the refinery as soon as possible and using a procedure which is completely ecologically acceptable.
"I don't believe in the rumors that INA, at least not in the foreseeable future, would leave Sisak. INA is contruactually obliged to modernise the refinery and that is something to be insisted upon. The processing of domestic over imported oil should certainly be encouraged. I agree that the refinery is currently too important for Sisak's development and that its modernisation could advance the overall economy of Sisak, as well as the region", said Blažeković.
He also commented the ways and new possibilities for farmers to get funds from european funds for financing their agricultural projects. He emphasized the importance of farmers uniting into clusters in order to lower the prices of their products and become more competitive on EU markets through a joint market presence, joint marketing, trade and transport.
"Regarding the processing of crime and unlawfully gained property during the privatisation and war profiteering, we can make a joint effort in order to help for these processes to end as soon as possible by constantly questioning the state Attorneys and judiciary authorities", concluded CPP's parliamentary representative.
