Čakovec, 13th of February – "Freedom and responsibility are the foundational values of liberal policy, without which no other human value can be realised", said Boris Blažeković, Academy director and CPP parliamentary representative on a public discussion about the founding values of liberal policy in Čakovec.
Speaking about the basic ideas of liberalism, the stereotypes which accompany it and liberal problematics, Blažeković put special emphasis on the importance of the relationship between liberalism and the state and the question of the difference of liberalism and other ideologies. He continued by noting that every human being needs freedom in order to develop its talents and itself completely. Every human being is an individual with their personal and unique ideas, desires and needs, and at the same time it is a social being dependent on other individuals.
"Through a historical breakthrough and the fact that liberal values became a part of all democratic parties ideologies, liberal democrats have experienced a historical failure. They have stopped being a relevant party choice. On the other hand, the building of values in political parties is important, as well as the importance of discussions such as this one since one of the foundational party functions is the selection of a national political elite which signifies education, schooling and fine sanding of young staff", said Blažeković.
All attendees took part in the discussion relating to the relationship between liberal policy and the individual, as well as the state on civilian society and international relations, as well as CPP's position in Croatian politics.
The public discussion about the founding values of liberalism and CPP's position in Croatia was organised by CPP's Political Academy and Međimurska county organisation, and the foreword was held by Međimurska county organisation president and CPP, CSLP and CFP Head of county candidate on the forthcoming local elections.
