Karlovac, 13th of February - CPP's Karlovačka county organization held a seminar on the local elections and the modern techniques of public relations. About the topics spoke Dean Žabčić, a spokesman for the same.

Talking about the campaign organization at the local level Žabčić said the goal of the campaign must be defined, as well as the steps that must be followed when dealing with the realization of the set goal. In the lecture he also pointed out the strategic objectives, priorities and measures in the campaign, as well as special events with activities and subsidiaries. The first part ended with the role of volunteers, register of voters, work of the call center, door-to-door campaign and election day.

In the following there was also a talk about communicating with local media and voters in a campaign, where Žabčić at the beginning gave the importance to strategy and planning prior to the communication.

     

In communication with voters Žabčić said and cited several methods of conveying a message to a specific audience through personal contact, mail, the party issuing bulletins, promotional materials, organization of events and campaign rallies, through call centers and the media. Talking about communication with local media he pointed out elements of political communication and the way to work with the media.

In the last part of the seminar spokesman Žabčić talked about modern techniques of public relations. He presented everything on the basis of the seminar for spokesmen in Vodice. He talked about the preparation of media events, as well as the role and application of modern techniques of PR in the context of new social media. All present were familiar with the work of spokesmen at the Hotel Punta where through workshops, lectures and discussions spokesmen designed an online campaign, discussed obstacles and political benefits of working online, writing press releases and prepared two samples of media events.

The seminar was attended by members of the County Presidency, Presidency of the CPP's subsidiary Karlovac and the presidents of branches in city of Karlovac.
